About Your Presenter

Marv K. is a former radio broadcaster and reference librarian. He holds a BA in Communication Studies - Broadcasting from SUNY Oswego and an ALA-MLS from SUNY University at Buffalo. He has worked as a print and radio advertising account executive as well as program host, newscaster and announcer at several radio stations, held reference positions at public libraries in Florida, Ohio, Missouri and at a community college in Tennessee. He has taught hundreds of library instruction sessions to patrons of all ages, making libraries and research upbeat, fun and relevant, drawing upon the broadcasting background. Marv is deeply committed to library advocacy, information literacy and intelligent, listenable podcasting/broadcasting, which can often also be entertaining. He is single, calls Oswego, NY his hometown and is available to speak, as well as a consultant/producer of podcasts for other socially responsible organizations.
